Hey, my beautiful friends. How are you? Doing well. Today we’re gonna talk about another favorite subject of mine. It’s called Time. I love Time. Why? Because really time is one of the most valuable things that we have as the humans that we are, and how we use our time and what we focus on. We’ll either create the results you want in your life after divorce or get you nowhere.

So if you are ready, let’s get started.

Are you ready to create a life that’s better than ever before? We are Doreen Yaa and Jeff Wilson, and we are here to give you the. Strategies you need to create the life after divorce that you deserve and desire. As partners, both in marriage and coaching, we use our expertise as well as our own personal experiences to help you make the next chapter of your life the best chapter.

All right, so I’m here again with Jeff, my partner in life and in business. That’s right, right. Because we are in the process, and if you’re listening to this and we’ve already created it, we’re in the process of creating an amazing program for people. Like you who have gone through divorce maybe are in the middle of divorce and it’s gonna be a coaching program.

But currently we are doing one-on-one coaching and more about that, uh, later. So today we’re gonna talk about time management, but really not, you know, when I say time management, everybody, it’s, it’s almost like a cliche, right? Yeah. So, um, we’re gonna talk about time and. What it means and how to use it most effectively.

Now, um, why am I talking about that for people that are like my listeners going through divorce or post divorce? It’s because if you wanna create a life for yourself that has meaning and is done on purpose, instead of just going through the motions every day, which a lot of people, if I might even stretch to say many or most people do, um, You know, doing things on purpose, setting your um, agenda, setting your calendar so that you can create things that you want in your life, whether it’s business, whether it’s working out, whether it’s spending time, even downtime we put down in our calendars.

I mean, we put everything in there. Why do we do that? Because, We’re busy, like everybody’s busy, but also because we have plans. We have goals, right? We’re in the process, like I said, of creating this program for you, and so we put it down in our calendar, what needs to be done, we break it down. So let’s talk about that.

Now, you’ve struggled with time before, right? Yes. I’ve been a little bit disorganized with my time management and, uh, And I’m getting better. Yeah, you are. You are. I think, um, being in the life coach school has helped, right? Yes. Okay. Um, yeah, our, uh, Brooke, who’s the founder of the Life Coach School, has an amazing program, uh, that she put together on time management and, uh, what she calls the Monday morning, what is it, what, Monday morning hour?

Yes. Monday morning. Uh, I just lost the name of it. Yeah, we lost the name of it. Anyhow, it’ll come to us in a minute. Right. But basically what it means is that, We do first, what we call a download, a thought download. So what happens is when you get up in the morning and you just start your day and you look, maybe you have some things on your calendar, right?

Whether it’s business things or you have an appointment or even, you know, you’re meeting with a friend or whatever, but you know, most people just get up and they just. Look at their calendar, and then they just start maybe getting into their emails and just going through their day and figuring out, like, as they’re going, what they’re gonna do.

It’s uh, Monday hour one. That’s it. Monday, Monday hour one. Monday back. Yes. Yes. Thank you so much. Monday hour. One. Yeah. The reason, uh, it came to me, you started talking about they wake up and, but that is the first hour. That’s what you need to do first. Yeah. So let’s slow down. Okay. Right. Let’s slow down.

So we were saying, what I was saying is that most people just go through their day without intention. Right. They, and then you think you’re getting a lot done because, you know, for example, for me, With my law firm, I could be on my emails all day long. I must get, I don’t know, 300 emails a day. It’s crazy what you get.

Okay. Just from my law firm. So how do I manage that? Well with time and as an example with my emails? You know, you might think that you’re busy when you’re on your emails. And like me with my law firm, because I’m constantly answering things and giving directions and following up with clients and the court, whatever it might be, and you seem like you’re busy, but the question is, at the end of the day, how much have you done in that day?

Towards your future goal. And for me as an example, I could spend my entire day just working on my law firm. But if I wanna create the other, uh, things in my life that are important to me, such as working out, losing weight, getting a be, getting in better shape, you know, I’ve got to put, for example, exercise into my calendar, right?

Or else I’m never gonna get there. So I ask you at the end of your day, what have you accomplished? Towards your future goals. Okay, so let’s talk about what a thought download is and how we start. And now we typically do our thought downloads on Sundays. Um, so you know, if there’s a holiday like on a Monday or a Monday holiday holiday, um, then we might do it on Monday, but we typically like to do them Sunday.

And I like to do my first thing in the morning on Sunday. I just get up. Um, you know, kind of lays around a little bit on Sunday and then I’d like to sit down in my office and for about one hour just put down all the things that I think I have to do away from your spouse. What do you mean? Well, you get, you have to stay away from me so you can focus and I can focus on my list.

Well that’s, yeah, that’s why I said I go into my office right now. It’s interesting cuz if you could vision our offices in our house, you know, I have my law firm. And that’s right across the street from actually my house. You know, like literally what, one minute away by car. And your office, um, in real estate is in Boca Raton as well, you know, five minutes or so.

But we have our offices in our homes where we do most of our coaching and work from, you know, as well. And so I go into my office and really close the door and try to concentrate so, That’s for me, I’m not a person. So know yourself, like where are you gonna do your thought download, where you’re not gonna be interrupted by, um, other people in your house, your kids, your dog, your friends, or your electronics.

Meaning, you know, put your phone away if you’re one of those people that can’t concentrate because you are constantly hearing a ding or have that need to be on your phone like someone else. I know. Hint, hint. Okay, thank you. Yes, of course. Like. You, I think your phone is attached to you. It is like, I think it’s part of your, your hand.

Okay. Well, I, I look at it, it’s also a work tool. Yeah. I look at a different, I look, you know, when, when you’re dealing with real estate or you’re dealing with other things, uh, the, the phone can be a very important tool. Right? But that’s gonna be important for our discussion today because just like emails are important to my law practice and I might miss something, meaning like, In other words, something could come in right now that would be important.

Okay. Maybe it’s a client who’s writing to me about an issue that they’re having with their ex. Mm-hmm. Right? And they need me. It’s important, but it doesn’t mean that I have to deal with it right then, right there. Right. And so many people struggle with that. Right. Yeah. And when we’re done with the, uh, Monday hour one, I do, I would like to get into, when you, we talk about time management, where you’re really not managing the time you’re managing yourself, which is what you’re talking about.
